| AB5SE | SO LP ALL | This is a challenging contest running LP unassisted into a HexBeam for the high bands and what amounts to a dummy load for the low bands but still loads of fun. I missed 4 hours during prime operating time due to family visiting (Darn family)! I generally run assisted but knew time would not allow a decent effort so I chose unassisted Classic overlay. I found it is more fun with the spots so you don’t have to search for mults. This felt like the 1990’s! Overall very pleased with the effort. As always, I’m proud to be a part of such a kind and respectful contest community. Not only great ops, but decent people. I always finish a contest feeling much more positive about mankind. | C4E | SO HP ALL | Very hard contest weekend! The low bands were extremely noisy, especially 80m. It was very difficult to decode many calls, and at times I felt like I was listening with the wrong beverage antenna. Rain all weekend, plus a few power cuts and restarts, made things even more interesting 🙂 High bands were another world – much better conditions there. Had fun playing 2BSIQ! My daughter joked: “Dad, this shouldn’t be a typing competition!” 😄 Congratulations to P49X for the great score, and also to ED8M – the fastest catcher on all bands!
