N6RSH | SO HP ALL | CQ contests are the most enjoyable. The contest format along with N1MM+ Logger makes for a guaranteed fun time. THANK YOU and 73. Steve - N6RSH |
N6RV | SO HP ALL | Thanks for the QSOs! |
N6YEU | SO LP 20M | UUsing built in RTTY feature in IC-7610 and keyboard. My apologies for rough operating. Next time I'll have software set up correctly. I am very new to RTTY and lots to learn! |
N7VGO | SO HP ALL | Fun contest, makes you want to do more RTTY contests! Found out all the RTTY signals would wipe out the front end of my radio, glad I had roofing filters or my day would have been done. Thanks again for the contest |
N7VPN | SO LP 20M | Hopefully, I will have more time next year |
N7VS | SO LP ALL | Thank you for hosting another interesting contest. No activity on 10 meters yet. 15 was a nice surprise. Hope to be back next year |
N7WY | SO HP ALL | 2F Sunday AM - temp inside shack 50F - may come back later log washed to replace 5NN reports with 599 and no reports with 599 |
N8FYL | SO LP ALL | Life events got in the way of planned activity, but I did manage to get on for the last hour and twenty minutes! |
N8URE | SO LP 15M | I was planning to operate QRP, but the conditions were poor, so I turned on the 15-10 m amp and worked mostly 15m |
N8WXQ | SO HP ALL | Conditions are improving! |
N9BBE | SO LP ALL | There a few contacts at the beginning of my log that I neglected to record my received serial number from the station I worked. I apologize for that screw up |
N9OK | SO HP ALL | That was fun... most number of contacts in a contest ever. Band conditions were decent. First time tried seeking out mults while running, it was very effective |
NA6MB | SO LP ALL | Decent conditions. Mostly USA though. Low hours = low score |
NB3R | M2 | Operated from NJ3I's Dushore PA station. One dual band 40/20 beam. Wires for the other bands |
ND3R | SO LP ALL | Great contest. See you all next year |
NE3R | SO QRP ALL | Operating my temporary portable setup from West Virginia |
NF4J | SO HP ALL | This is a resend because I mistakenly applied an overlay class that was non-applicable to this contest. Please make sure this Log gets used as my Official Cabrillo File since I removed the 'Classic Overlay' designation |
NG1I | Checklog | POOR CONDX 20M |
NG1R | SO LP ALL | Thank you for sponsoring the contest. 73 |
NI0K | SO HP ALL | I had two goals: 1. More than 1000 Q's 2. More than 750k points. As Maxwell Smart used to say, 'Missed it by that much!' with 997 claimed contacts despite a serious sprint to the finish. Next year!!! |
NL8F | SO HP 80M | Great Contest |
NN2DX | SO LP ALL | Huge thanks to Ray W2RE and RHR for another amazing opportunity to use the W2/Summit station! If I had not run off to meet my youth friend K4BEN for lunch and a POTA activation I would have done much better. The higher bands had some usefulness to them but not enough for me to stick around too long. Just enough to get some mults I saw then quickly retreat back to the safety of 20m. 20 was quite nice with the 6/6 as expected, did have some icing issues on 20 and 40 but fixed that with some rotator jiggling and a tuner. 40m was VERY good! I did way better on 40 than I expected, the 3el outperformed all my expectations! 80 was very lonely, I found I was talking to myself most of the time so again, worked mults I saw then hightailed it back to 40 for some good EU rates! All in all I should have operated the whole period but I think RTTY is incredibly boring so I had to take breaks for sanity. Looks like I have claimed the record for World SOLP Rookie. I have it by around 100k so hopefully it sticks! Might have even won SOLP NA, Fingers crossed! Thanks to everyone for the QSO's and to the one guy on 40 that decided to tell me his name age and QTH instead of a serial number! See everyone next time... maybe 73, Connor W4IPC (18) https://www.w2re.com/summit/ Radio's ??? 2x Flex 6600 10m - 7EL 100' 15m ??? 5/5/5 Stacks 20m ??? 6/6 Stacks @ 122/77' & 4el @ 110' 40m ??? 3 ele 40M yag @ 110' 80m ??? NN2NN | SO HP ALL | Did not plan to be in this one but ended up participating. Good propagation and a ton of stations to work. Long live RTTY! Take that, FT8! Steve NN2NN |
NN4NT | SO HP ALL | FTDX101D, KPA500 @400w, dipoles and hexbeam |
NN6NN | MSH | Two buddies having fun with the new Multi-distributed category. W6XK at his QTH operated 40 and 80 meters, while N6EE operated 20M at his QTH. Hopefully the merged cabrillo logs are useable for log checking at least. It WAS fun while it lasted, but too many obligations to do this seriously |
NN7SS | SO HP ALL | Two hours of fun at the start to work all the JAs on 20m. Came back Saturday and spent a few minutes at one radio, high power, then spent an hour working toward my SO2R configuration. Got most of it working, but there's still a few bugs I can't fix from my end remotely. I came back Sunday morning and system was slow, audio had huge delay and wouldn't decode well. Later audio also had 'pops' as internet dropped out. Never got better before the end of contest. NN8UU | SO LP 40M | First time operating this event. I'll be back next year |
NU4Y | SO HP ALL | Used a Tri-Band vertical and a 40 meter vertical. Had Thunderstorms Friday night and some Sat. Used WriteLog with MMTTY and TwoTone as second decoder. Icom 756ProII with FSK, Alpha 76. Antennas are 1. a driven element from a Wilson Tribander mounted with 1/2 vertical and 1/2 horizontal 2. A 33 foot vertical for 40 meters with 4 elevated radials at about 3 feet. The real advantage of the Verticals was having a station in EU, Pacific, and South America call at the same time. The dis-advantage was no gain on any band. Had a lot of fun. Must be fun to sit in seat for 30 hours. Thanks for all that called and all that heard me. WriteLog worked great, no problems. I did not use any packet, maybe should have to get some more mults. Maybe next year. 73, Jim |
OE1CIW | SO LP ALL | Last weekend we had the 2021 CQ WPX RTTY contest and i had my second-best result so far since 2017 but this time i only was active for 25:20 hrs! I started very late at saturday 0251 utc because i had lot of troubles to find the right RTTY audio channel! Due some tries with FT8 i lost some proper settings i had before and so i couldn??t see any audio signal coming from my SignaLink USB Sound Card! I didn??t had the time before the contest started to check my RTTY equipment (DXLog 2.5.6 with MMVARI) earlier. After correction to the proper audio channel by pressing the right mouse-click button it worked absolutely great! Propagation could be much better but wasn??t so bad at all. Especially on 15 m some nice contacts has been established but 40 m was definitely my best amateur radio band in this contest! For me 20 m band was rather disappointing because it seemed that 40 m did work much much better. I also didn??t have the proper time for 20 m to find more DX stations ... maybe i spent also too much time on 15 m because there i could find some very interesting stations! Normally 40 m is my 'engine' to keep a reasonable score but ... if propagation is good enough 20 m works much better than in this contest so i think propagation could be a lot better indeed. I??m very happy this time i could work some stations on 15 m too! On 10 m i tried several times but no luck and nothing at all in my log on 10 m. My highlights with 100 watts and some indoor wires in the attic: 40 m: totally 27 US stations, VO1CH Canada, OD5ZF Lebanon, 3V8SS Tunisia, ZW2WF Cayman Islands, A60A United Arab Emirates, T6A Afghanistan, VA3DF Canada, HZ1TT Saudi Arabia, VE5MX Canada 15 m: T6A Afghanistan, EA8AH Canary Islands, V51WH Namibia, A60A United Arab Emirates, EA9E Ceuta & Melilla ZF2WF i tried several times on 40 m and i needed some minutes but finally i got him in my log - normally it??s easier to work ZF2 (in CW). No luck with JR4OZR on 20 m, YB2MM, VU2DED on 15 m and E2A on 40 m - next time let??s try again! Nice to meet lot of my ham radio friends also in RTTY - thanks for the contacts! See you again in 2021 ARRL International DX Contest third full weekend in February (February 20-21, 2021) ???? 73 de Michael OE1CIW |
