K7XC | SO HP 20M | Started out pretty good but discovered the dual band 80/40 Meter Fan Inverted Vee was INOP so calling it a night and went to bed. 2 AM the house filled w/acrid thick smoke till the fire died. Got dressed, went out in the cold dark 55 MPH blowing snow and got the generator from the Shed and in 12F took about 20 tugs on the start cord till it burbled to life. Couldn't sleep Saturday and ended up sleeping most of Sunday. Since then have diagnosed and repaired the broken wire antennas, Confirmed the rest were working well in anticipation of the ARRL DX CW this coming weekend. Murphy makes one humble ! |
K8KI | SO HP ALL | Excellent fun! |

K9LC | SO LP ALL | First time working RTTY in a contest. I am now hooked and will be back for more. Had some issues that I need to iron out in my equipment and software that should allow me to enjoy working more efficiently. My high nose level on 40 and 80 meters made operating difficult except for the strongest station. Had some issues to look into operating on 80M with my rig or antenna due to high SWR pulses. All in all, though it was a fun contest and I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would |
K9OM | SO HP 40M | One of the best contests of the year! 73, K9OM |
