| WB6JJJ | SO HP ALL | Thank you for another fun contest from Oregon. Conditions seemed OK with just a few EU stations in the log. ? Near the end of the contest, a number of people would give their call and all of the exchange information before being acknowledged?? The only issue was that the 40 Meter antenna was not tuning well. Rain? See you in the next contest. And, thank you for all of the QSOs. Bill |

| WQ6X | SO QRP ALL | This was another WQ6X QRP WPX RTTY GiG, but from Anza this time. This year's Weird Prefix (WPX) RTTY contest was a mixed-BAG. Running QRP is always a challenge altho having access to the stacked yagi's and 80-meter 4-Square made a difference in signal strength. My biggest beef is stations who start calling CQ EXACTLY ZERO-BEAT with my oddball chosen run frequencies (Ex: 21111.11, 21131.31, 14088.88, 7091.91, etc.). There is no way dozens of stations end up EXACTLY on my run frequency by accident. While there was a nice opening to EU on 40-meters, overall, EU access was down, altho working SM2M (via LP) on 15-meters when pointed at Aussie land was certainly a kick. As the weekend progressed, solar-induced geomagnetic noise became quite a problem. Because I was using the Stereo-RTTY method, turning on the Elecraft DNR actually rendered signals less copy-able, so I dealt with the noise. | Z3/SV1DAY | SO QRP ALL | Thank you, everyone! I had actually never run an RTTY contest from my own QTH before, only from big contest stations like SZ1A or J42L, where everything is already perfectly set up. This weekend I was in Skopje, and I spent days struggling to get my own rig configured properly. I even started the contest with an AFSK setup, a fair amount of ignorance, and a long list of issues. DL1NM's excellent document, did everything finally click. I switched to FSK, exactly the way I had always assumed it should work, and from that moment on everything made sense. I enjoyed the contest immensely, and I came out of it both satisfied and wiser. Thank you very much, dear Gerd! His message is available here: https://groups.io/g/MMTTY-SB-RTTY/message/1255 |
| ZL3VZ | SO LP ALL | Conditions seemed very good with 10m and even 80m showing up well on occasions. This made for a very enjoyable contest |
| ZM4T | SO HP ALL | Came back home Sunday evening after a long drive through a big storm with 120 km/h wind. Weather was terrible at our place, and we had a utility outage two hours later. Went to bed for the night. Power still off on Monday morning. Started the generator for another two hours or so of operation. Still no utility power at the end of the contest (Mid Monday) |
