VE7AB | SO LP ALL | the vertical dipoles in trees actually work well enough to make 100 QSOs |
VE7BGP | SO LP ALL | I had a of fun operating this RTTY contest, I treated myself to a new Rig in Sept. for turning 70 and over 50 years in Ham Radio a FTdx-10 What a great Rig. 73 Gerry |
VK3IU | SO LP ALL | 1st contest in 20y |
VK7BO | SO HP ALL | Limited time but very enjoyable contest. It was good to work some US stns on both 80m and 10m too |
VL3V | MSH | We had periods of very high noise and there seemed to be less stations on the air, but we beat our record from last year. We love RTTY contesting!! |
VO1BQ | Checklog | Couldn't get N1MM+ working on RTTY so I went with Ham Radio Deluxe DM780. My first time trying to use DM 780 in a contest...managed to get a Cab file generated but it does not show either of the QSO serial Nrs...so I guess you can use this as a Check Log if needed. 73 Joe VO1BQ |
VU2DED | SO HP ALL | Working conditions: ICOM IC-7300 with FURUNO power amplifier, PA-2500 Homebrew Wire Fan Dipole antenna, 20M, 15M & 10M For 80/40 meters, dual band coil loaded dipole |
VU2FGQ | SO LP 15M | First time in RTTY contest |
VU2GRM | SO LP ALL | Thank the organizers for arranging the contest |
VY2LI | SO LP ALL | My entry is in the TB-wires category, despite the fact that my TH3jr @ 30' is not working (looks pretty though)...so used two wire Vees between 20 and 25 feet which I will probably be restricted to until Spring. Nonetheless, everything else worked fine and activity and propagation was great. At 55W, I was actually able to run and hold a frequency several times. N1MM says over 21 hours in the chair, but I was in and out many times for breaks (just not able to put in the BIC time anymore). Thanks to all for the Qs...still my favorite contest mode! 73, Bill FT-950 @ 55W, Rigblaster Pro N1MM, 20 and 40M wires |
W0DC | SO LP ALL | Nice to see conditions on 15 and 10 meters much improved! |
W0ZW | SO HP ALL | Great to see 10 m open consistently during the day. Even worked EU on 10 from the high desert of New Mexico! |
W1AJT | SO HP ALL | K3 / HexBeam @ 7m / 43' Vertical / 80m 'V' |
W1HS | SO HP ALL | I really enjoy operating RTTY and CQ WPX RTTY is rapidly becoming one of my favorite contests. It is nice having the ability to work US stations to keep things moving along when the DX fizzles out. 10m never really opened here, but I was pleasantly surprised during a very short run to get a call from a station in New Zealand. Conditions on 15m were pretty good and it was my best performing band this contest. My rate really slowed down for a while Saturday afternoon, which gave me incentive to take advantage of the abnormally warm weather here to shovel the snow off the roof of the RV and then get out cross country skiing for a while. Came back to much better conditions. Up early Sunday morning for a good few hours, until the FlexRadio crashed. Troubleshooting resulted in a PC reboot which caused me to spend too much time reconfiguring things in order to get everything working again. Need to improve my internal documentation a little so that I can deal with the inevitable Flex/Windows crash faster next time. Station improvements since last contest really paid off, most notably the addition of the tuner genius and power genius which allowed me to operate high power (400w vs 100) and more than double my previous score. Antennas: 10m, 15m and 20m: SteppIR Urbanbeam on a 35 foot mast 20m, 40m: 61' G5RV Dipole at 40 feet 80m: 102' G5RV Dipole at 50 feet Radio: Flex 6700 Power Genius XL Amp running 400w Antenna Genius TGXL tuner Windows 10 w/N1MM+ logger, fldigi and GRTTY |
W1RPG | SO LP ALL | This is the first RTTY event I've operated in over a decade and learning the new fldigi was a challenge but I got it going and had some fun |
W2NTN | SO QRP 10M | I operated part of this contest period. The operation was QRP with a dipole antenna on 10 meters only. Once again, thanks to those who worked to pull my small signal out of the noise |
W3MAM | SO LP ALL | First Licensed July 2019 |
W3RE | SO LP ALL | After second break, PC performed a Windows update that wipped out the database and all station information/settings in N1MM. Took some time to restore and have the settings back to work RTTY again. The transmitter would stay on solid until researching how to setup RTTY again properly for the FTDX5000 and Microham USB Interface. Was fun when the programs functioned |
W3SA | SO HP ALL | 80 Meter horizontal loop only antenna |
W4BCG | SO LP ALL | FIRST TIME USNG REMOTE SETUP....GOOD OPS |
W4GHV | SO HP ALL | EFHW & IC-7610 kj7meb ASSISTING! |
W4PFM | SO LP ALL | still using the rain gutter antenna in Florida. It's surprizing whats workable even in a contest. Only had 2.5 hours but still had fun and surprizes working serval europeans on 40 meters! |
W4VIC | SO HP ALL | How many VE2s does one need to work to get credit for Zone 2? Dub, where were you when I needed you? Thanks for the Qs. 73, Vic W4VIC |
W5AP | SO HP ALL | just playing and checking out the SO2R setup Some day I'll have to get a better WPX call...hi Yagi broken so just wires this year |
W6QU | SO QRP ALL | Condx definitely improved from last year. We have passed the bottom of the cycle!! I actually had about 13 stations answer my QRP CQs in this contest! |
W7SLS | SO HP ALL | Thanks for the QSOs |
W8GJK | SO LP ALL | This was my first time putting in a solid weekend-long effort for this contest. Lots of fun from my tiny lot with wire antennas... 73 DE W8GJK |
W8JWN | SO HP ALL | Terrible propagation on Sunday here in the Upper Pennisula of Michigan. Only two European stations worked. Murphy struck on Saturday. 80 meter Bazooka high SWR and the tuner couldn't bring it down. Meter stopped working in the external tuner on Radio 2. It's always something! |
W9YK | SO HP ALL | Keep on Hamming! |
WA1FCN | SO LP 15M | Sure was fun playing with AB1J on On-Line SCoreboard. You did great for just minimal antennas Ken. It was nice to get a run of JA's at the end of contest |
WA8Y | SO HP ALL | My back would not tolerate much chair time |
WB6JJJ | SO HP ALL | Fun contest... Too bad that I had to work on the tower and antennas plus family stuff this weekend. Got on Ten Meters with just ten minutes left in the contest and sent CQ - what a zoo pile-up. Lots of JA stations in the log. Thanks for our QSOs, much appreciated. Bill |
WD0T | SO LP ALL | Fun contest, conditions OK , 73 God Bless! Todd WD0T |
WD5ACR | SO HP ALL | 10M opening on Sunday afternoon was pretty nice. Anywhere the sun shone I could work |
WD6T | SO HP ALL | I wasn't able to do a serious effort, so I decided to get on the air from my terrain-challenged small home station. I figured if it was too frustrating, I'd just bail. I was pleasantly surprised by the results, and got sucked into the fun. I ended up with 21 hours BIC and more Qs than I've ever made before from home in a RTTY contest. S&P proved more productive than running, though I did have some good runs when propagation favored me. Strictly SO1R, I cycled between the active bands, doing frequent sweeps of the pan-adapter. The best band by far was 15 meters. It was much quieter than 20m, with stronger signals, and great JA/Asia runs. Still, 20m had its moments (to the US only) and 40m had good domestic runs as well. I tried hard to work at least 100 Qs on every band, but couldn't manage it on 10m, and had to struggle to achieve it on 80m. Asia was great on 15 meters (I have a downslope in that direction), with extended runs, but poor on 20 meters. I also worked a loud JA on 40 meters, at 8:30 AM local, an hour and a half after California sunrise. Great to see South America out in force on 15m and 10m, but very few European/African stations were audible here I worked only CR3, EA8, D4, GW (a pleasant surprise on 15m), and a couple of ESP contacts with continental Europe. (I have an up-slope to EU and the continental U.S.) There were two significant technical problems: First, when I'd click on a spot in N1MM, it would reset the RTTY mark and space frequencies to garbage values, requiring me to reset them to make decoding work again. This was so tedious that I ended up exclusively using the tuning knob. Even more concerning, five times during transmission, the IC-7610 seemed to go through a partial power reset, returning to the boot-up splash screen for a few seconds. This then required a restart of the logger. I have never seen this problem before and will have to delve into it further. All in all, a fun contest, and glad to see what my QTH could achieve and contribute some points to NCCC |
WE6EZ | SO QRP 10M | After a long time, fair conditions on 10M, although not yet optimal |
WE6Z | SO HP ALL | Band conditions were OK but not good. No real EU openings |
WF6C | SO HP ALL | 10M rides again! |
WJ4HCP | SO LP ALL | CQ WPX RTTY 02122022 |
WK6I/7 | SO HP ALL | Who decided to bring back the DEs? Hokey smoke they were everywhere! And I Predict an unstablelog for V A 3 R O C He should check HIS software settings! LOL Thanks for the fun! |
WN7Y | SO LP ALL | Very fun contest! |
WO2Y | SO HP ALL | Always one of the best contests! Short exchange, great operators, and lots of rtty operators.... all very good and patient! CQ contests are among the best out there. Equip. Yaesu FTdx101 ACOM 1000 5 el. 20 meter and 40 mtr inverted L vertical |
WQ6X | SO LP ALL | This was another WQ6X portable operation from W7AYT's QTH in Concord, however beginning January 2022, the main radio has been upgraded to a Yaesu FT-2000 transceiver capable of running full-Duty RTTY w/o any signs of heat. While I enjoyed the contest immensely, a pair of solar storms killed the fun both on Friday and Saturday evenings. 10 meters was the BiG surprise for WQ6X, becoming the top QSO producing band, just eeking out 40-meters. I loved some of the unique prefixes introduced by Mexico and various South American countries. Hopefully they will come back in the March (Ssb)and May (Cw) GiGs. LooK for an informative write-up about this GiG at: http://WQ6X.Blogspot.Com |
WT3K | M2 | WHAT A SUPER WEEKEND THE OLYMPICS THE SUPERBOWL WPX RTTY CAN WE ASK FOR ANYTHING MORE |
WU9D | SO LP ALL | I wish some operators would learn to tune into the transmit frequency. It is MAJOR pain to tune the receiver to correct for their error. In the future I am simply going to ignore off frequency calls. Remember that it is probably 0.1% of the operators that cannot tune properly. ALmost all are great operators! |
WV6I | SO HP 15M | Stellar 15m conditions from W6 |
WW2G | SO QRP ALL | First Time Trying this contest QRP. I had a lot of fun and I am looking forward to doing it again next time |
WW3S | SO HP ALL | remote operation poolside, while in Orlando FL, for Hamcation |
