K3CCRM2K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. N3UM and W5MPB did Multi-2 in 2023 CQ WPX RTTY. Zero Signalink audio out meant no K3 Tx (bad cable? TBD) so we used K3s and Orion backup. M-2 is more fun than M-1. We hoped to beat our 2022 WPX RTTY M-2 result of 917 Qs and 1.4 M claimed. We did 1.33 X the QSO pts, 1.2 X the mults, and 1.6 X the score claim, in 29 vs 31 hrs BIC. High SFI of 212 helped we got 5 fewer Qs on 80 thru 20 M this year, but 352 more Qs on 15 & 10 M! At 0Z start N3UM on 40 M ran for 88 Qs, then clicked spots for 146 total at 0420Z and quit to return early. W5MPB clicked for 65 20-M Qs, then 33 80-M Qs for a total of 98 at 0544Z QRT. From 1217Z Sat. N3UM ran at 42/hr for 29 of 71 Qs on 20 M + 5 on 40 M, and broke to eat at 16Z. W5MPB ran for 25 of 46 Qs on 15 M 1249-1427Z, then ran at 50/hr for 28 of 61 Qs on 10 M and broke to eat at 1644Z. From 18-2050Z N3UM got 86 Qs on 15 M, 38 in a run at 60/hr. He then got 26 Qs on 10 M and broke to eat at 2205Z. From 1830-2203Z W5MPB got 84 Qs on 20 M, 16 running, and broke to eat. Back at 2321Z he band- hopped for 32 20-M Qs, 34 15-M Qs, and 2 40-M Qs, then quit at 0235 to return early. From 2353-0215Z N3UM got 99 40-M Qs, 76 running at 58/hr. Then 0221 to 0425Z QRT N3UM got 61 80-M Qs, 36 in 2 runs. Sun. 1253-1702Z W5MPB got 68 Qs on 15 M + 40 Qs on 10 M and broke to eat. N3UM 1419-1616Z got 34 20-M Qs and broke to eat. Good rate 1824-23Z 238 Qs, 52/hr. W5MPB got 63 Qs on 10 M and 61 on 15 M, and N3UM got 59 Qs on 20 M and 55 on 40 M. Rate died after 23Z W5MPB got 9 Qs on 15 M + 9 on 10 M, and N3UM got 10 Qs on 80 M. We got 5 YBs, on 20 & 15 M. Sunspots are back

K7NTSO HP ALLI don't think I have ever spent any time in a RTTY contest. I made a few RTTY QSOs back in the 1990s but never in a contest. It was very interesting and enjoyable. I sat down in front of the rig about 9 PM Friday evening and decided to get the Icom 7610 on RTTY. Learned a lot about the 7610 and about computer interfacing. I used N1MM+ and MTTY with EXTFSK and after fiddling around a bit, reading and watching Youtube videos it started copying RTTY. (The 7610 can do that on its own and that was a 1 minute deal to figure that out). A bit more fiddling and it was able to transmit and I started working a few on 40 and 1 or 2 on 80. Saturday morning 15 was lively and it was easy to work Europe with my 2-300 watts to the Greyline Flagpole antenna. Goofed off with it off and on Saturday and will look forward to doing more RTTY contesting!
K9ZXOChecklogmessed up the count, didn't I?
KA1CSO LP ALLNice to have 10 & 15 meters wide open! What a blast! Steve - KA1C
KA2AEYSO HP ALLGreat Contest, had a lot of fun
KA6BIMSO HP ALLGreat to have 10 Mtrs open! It was my leading band until just before the end. 20 just plain sucked. 40 and 80 performed fairly well, but fewer 6 point stations worked. Overall it was my 2nd best SOAB entry. Thanks for the qso's Dave ka6bim

KF0ADUSO LP ALLFirst license 05-2020 Licensed 05/19/2020
KF2TISO HP ALLI set up a specific button in N1MM to correct my callsign whenever it was replied wrong. In the 3 dozen or so times I used it, only 8 actually acknowledged it and made the correction. In several cases, I asked the CQ again, and reentered the contact when they used my call correctly Very frustrating
KF5VRDSO LP ALLOPERATED AT 50W
KG5EIUSO LP ALLFun to work all 5 bands
