WN7YSO LP ALLSure is nice to see 10 meters holding up all daytime and into darkness - brings back good memories of past solar cycles!
WQ6XSO QRP ALLThis was another ad-HOC WQ6X QRP operation from the Ramona Hilltop. Making this all work took some work to make it work. Because there is no RTTY facility in Ramona, I put the old classic RigExpert PLUS in the audio lines to send and decode RTTY tones. Because of spurious internet dropouts, I loaded the K3/0-Mini's M1 voice memory with the tones for calling: CQ WPX WQ6X WQ6X WQ6X /QRP. I missed the first 7-hours of the GiG. 40-meters Fri/Sat was rather poor, altho 40m on Saturday evening was AWEsome. The 2-el Shorty-40 helped. 80-meters was a BiG disappointment overall - just no one seemed to be playing there. A 3-el Stepp-IR (@55') made running the high bands very productive. Being able to switch between Forward/180 or run BI-directional to work SA and JA simultaneously is always cool. Because this was a WEIRD prefix contest, I defined function key 12 to send 'WEIRD WEIRD WEIRD', when people spazzed out and DiD WEIRD things, which happened a LoT. WQ9TSO LP ALLWhat can I say. I had a lot of other things to do this weekend. Got on late and made a few contacts just so I could say I was there

WV1KSO LP ALLCouldn't come out to play in this one but got on for a brief time Sunday afternoon to be fresh meat and likely the only WV1 multiplier. Unfortunately my yagi pointed at EU refuses to rotate, so I'll have to climb to sort that out. Looks like I missed some great condx and lots of stations... maybe next year?

ZD7BGSO HP ALLBand conditions were reasonable on Saturdy but poor during the day on Sunday which made it difficult to copy reports at times
ZL3VZSO LP ALLMarvellous response on 10m this year. Long path to Europe yielded some very useful contacts on 20m
ZS1/VE3NZSO LP 10MI was using an IC-705 and a GP antenna in a minimalist pool-side setup, running 10W (which would be too much for QRP category). QTH is located on the west side of Table Mountain at 120m ASL. We have an awesome 180 degree sea view. Working AS from here would be possible only LP, since the 1000m high Table Mountain is our backyard. I had a great time, even had a little pile-up and running US for a little while. During the opening for NA EU stns were all beaming to NA having me on the blind spot of their beams. I could only work them after the EU-NA opening ended. It was very enjoyable to make those long DX contacts in a row with 10W. An average EU contact is 10,000km from here, and an average US QSO is 15,000km. Even CT3 is more than 8,200km from here, yet it still belong to the same continent, Africa. I will do this again if I have a chance. Thanks for the QSOz, 73' and Best DX BEN, ZS1/VE3NZ
